Got a chance to make a few cards recently and wanted to share them with you. The recipes for each card follows the image.

This card uses a DP (designer paper) I got on sale which is aged looking and a Cuttlebuged strip of ivory which has been aged using Walnut Stain Distressed Ink (dtp). Stamp the Upsy Daisy stamp on layered Nestabilities and raise using dimensions. A knotted taupe ribbon found on sale at Michael's was placed underneath the focal point. The base card is Mellow Moss with an Always Artichoke layer on top of it.

These are a couple of simple cards but very pretty. Cuttlebug a white card base using the dotted swiss folder. Punch 2 MS-Martha Stewart-butterflies (for each butterfly) from DP. Glue one to the base. Fold the second one to make the butterfly appear to be in flight and with a little glue put on top of the one already in place. After it's dried, open up the wings. You could add some glitter or stickles on the butterflies for some bling.

Beginning with a Groovy Guava card base, layer a piece of Kraft cardstock. Place on Kraft piece the DP and Cuttlebugged piece (lightly sponged with Groovy Guava and Creamy Caramel). Place double stitched Groovy Guava ribbon around this layer. Stamp Friendship Flowers sentiment on Naturals Ivory and cut with large oval Nestabilities. Around the edge, stamp off the flower using Groovy Guava and Close to Cocoa. Cut large oval scalloped Nestabilities out of Ruby Red cardstock. Put white dots in each scallop. Raise sentiment and place on scalloped layer.

A Dotted Swiss Cuttlebugged card was used as the base. Cuttlebug a scrap piece of white using the Divine Swirls EF and cut using the large oval Nestabilities. Cut a scalloped piece out of Ruby Red. Place these on the card base. Stamp Terrific Tulips on scrap and cut out. I used Old Olive, Pretty in Pink and and Rose Red inks. Stamp 2 more flower blooms and cut out. Put these in place using dimensionals. Punch butterfly out of DP with MS punch. Stickle, dry, and raise wings and place on card. Using more stickles, place on the tulip.
Thanks for looking.

Blogging Without Obligation

After coming across what seemed to be the 4000th or so post on someone’s blog starting with “I’m sorry I haven’t posted in awhile.” I decided it is time to rethink what makes a good blog and the expectations that have come to be part of it. I am thinking that no one should utter those words again . . .and with that thought I give you Blogging Without Obligation. •Because you shouldn’t have to look at your blog like it is a treadmill. •Because its okay to just say what you have to say. If that makes for a long post, fine. Short post, fine. Frequent post, fine. Infrequent post, fine. •Because its okay to not always be enthralled with the sound of your own typing. •Because sometimes less is more. •Because only blogging when you feel truly inspired keeps up the integrity of your blog. •Because they are probably not going to inscribe your stat, link and comment numbers on your tombstone. •Because for most of us blogging is just a hobby. A way to express yourself and connect with others. You should not have to apologize for lapses in posts. Just take a step back and enjoy life, not everything you do has to be “bloggable”. •Because if you blog without obligation you will naturally keep your blog around longer, because it won’t be a chore. Plus, just think you will be doing your part to eradicate post pollution. One post at a time. . .
