I've not been making cards lately...not that I haven't wanted to! I'm dying to spend some time in my "room". Just so many other priorities going on at this time and many sinus headaches!! But I did get a chance to make a couple yesterday. The first one was for Color Throwdown #38 and Flourishes FTTC11 to use paper piercing. The throwdown colors were Ruby Red, Basic Gray and Baja Breeze and the piercing was done on the Ruby Red scalloped layer. I made it as a CAS (clean and simple) card but didn't post it as such. Using my new Martha Stewart butterfly punch I placed them randomly with tiny black Kaiser pearls on the large one.
The next one is gold embossed and water colored. Embossing is one of my first loves and I didn't realize how much I had missed doing it. This stamp, Riot of Petals, is gorgeous when embossed with a metallic. Much intricate cutting was done, then layered onto ivory cardstock.

A little running info...
I haven't run a long distance since my half marathon at the end of February. I'd really like to run another one but doing 4-5 miles at a time isn't going to get it. So, I pulled myself up by the bootstrings (never had those!) and ran 8 miles today. After running 5 miles in the morning a couple of days ago, I worked out quite hard later that afternoon with some friends using the P90X DVD's (which I loved). I got a little sore and tight in my legs. So with soreness in every step this morning, I raised my head high and pushed on. This was a slow run for endurance and for working out the soreness. I finished well and feel less sore. Hope to start...and stick with...a "running plan" to do a long run each week with fartlets on other days to help increase my speed and endurance for future races.

Blogging Without Obligation
After coming across what seemed to be the 4000th or so post on someone’s blog starting with “I’m sorry I haven’t posted in awhile.” I decided it is time to rethink what makes a good blog and the expectations that have come to be part of it. I am thinking that no one should utter those words again . . .and with that thought I give you Blogging Without Obligation.
•Because you shouldn’t have to look at your blog like it is a treadmill.
•Because its okay to just say what you have to say. If that makes for a long post, fine. Short post, fine. Frequent post, fine. Infrequent post, fine.
•Because its okay to not always be enthralled with the sound of your own typing.
•Because sometimes less is more.
•Because only blogging when you feel truly inspired keeps up the integrity of your blog.
•Because they are probably not going to inscribe your stat, link and comment numbers on your tombstone.
•Because for most of us blogging is just a hobby. A way to express yourself and connect with others. You should not have to apologize for lapses in posts. Just take a step back and enjoy life, not everything you do has to be “bloggable”.
•Because if you blog without obligation you will naturally keep your blog around longer, because it won’t be a chore. Plus, just think you will be doing your part to eradicate post pollution. One post at a time. . .
