Our Last Days ...

This is a neighbor that stayed as long as we did. On Thursday, Mr. Corley sat here the entire day picking out pecans! He and his wife, Joyce, are avid readers. When they were home, they sat outside the entire time reading. I would watch as they read through a 2-3 inch book every couple of days! Now, that's a reader! She is a lot like me as she loves to be in the sun and Gene did not.

Friday...our last day at the beach! I had to crop my picture...I didn't want to shock you AND this is a family site...ha!

For dinner, we ate at Doc's Seafood. It was real good. I think they have the best seafood gumbo we've tasted down there! We both got seafood platters and took home at least enough for another platter to share. Don't we look spiffy??

Here's is my cute little dress I got. I just love it. When we got home I realized that I had forgotten to wear the necklace and earrings that I got to go with it..you'd figure I'd forget something. Guess I was too focused on HAVING to leave the next morning...sniff, sniff!!

We walked down to the beach when we got back. The air was cool and it was a perfect evening. We stayed down there for quite a while. Luxury RV is so close that we've walked down there many times during our stay. Guess the proximity is the primary reason we return to this place; although they are great hosts and the security is wonderful, too.

All I can say is I'm SOOOOO sad that we had to leave the beach...we both were! It was almost like a death. We loved our stay and look forward to the next time.

Looks like you had a blast!!! We will be leaving next week on Tuesday night. I can hardly wait! We are going to be loading up our camper this weekend. If you two get too bored, you can come over and hang out with us on Saturday. I thought that we might try and get some crawfish. Also, we were going to invite Roland and Myrtis. Roland is going to give Will a lesson in sculpting. He is super excited. Just let me know if you are interested?

Blogging Without Obligation

After coming across what seemed to be the 4000th or so post on someone’s blog starting with “I’m sorry I haven’t posted in awhile.” I decided it is time to rethink what makes a good blog and the expectations that have come to be part of it. I am thinking that no one should utter those words again . . .and with that thought I give you Blogging Without Obligation. •Because you shouldn’t have to look at your blog like it is a treadmill. •Because its okay to just say what you have to say. If that makes for a long post, fine. Short post, fine. Frequent post, fine. Infrequent post, fine. •Because its okay to not always be enthralled with the sound of your own typing. •Because sometimes less is more. •Because only blogging when you feel truly inspired keeps up the integrity of your blog. •Because they are probably not going to inscribe your stat, link and comment numbers on your tombstone. •Because for most of us blogging is just a hobby. A way to express yourself and connect with others. You should not have to apologize for lapses in posts. Just take a step back and enjoy life, not everything you do has to be “bloggable”. •Because if you blog without obligation you will naturally keep your blog around longer, because it won’t be a chore. Plus, just think you will be doing your part to eradicate post pollution. One post at a time. . .
