On our first day we were welcomed by AND inundated with tons of butterflies!! They are all over the flowery ground cover, sometimes 6 or 7 in a picture's view. I tried to get a picture of a bunch together but as soon as I would click they would flit about 2-3 feet away and move out of view of the picture. There are more small brown ones (which aren't photogenic mixed in with this ground cover), then orange, then yellow ones (which don't stay still long enough to get a pic of). But I still want to show you just how beautiful they are.
I went inside for a few minutes and within an instant we were bombarded with dragonflies! I mean hundreds of them! We've never seen so many before in one place. For about 30 minutes they were everywhere. Then as fast as they came, they flew off. Just look at the gorgeous sky in the first picture. You may have to look a little close (you can click on a photo to see it closer) but you need to see the dragonflies in these pictures.
A cold front came in last night and it was a perfect temp of 62 when we got up this morning. The day is gorgeous. The air is a little warm, the breeze is cool and the sky is gorgeous blue with white clouds. We ran 4 miles and enjoyed every minute! God has given us a beautiful first day.
John 3:16

Blogging Without Obligation
After coming across what seemed to be the 4000th or so post on someone’s blog starting with “I’m sorry I haven’t posted in awhile.” I decided it is time to rethink what makes a good blog and the expectations that have come to be part of it. I am thinking that no one should utter those words again . . .and with that thought I give you Blogging Without Obligation.
•Because you shouldn’t have to look at your blog like it is a treadmill.
•Because its okay to just say what you have to say. If that makes for a long post, fine. Short post, fine. Frequent post, fine. Infrequent post, fine.
•Because its okay to not always be enthralled with the sound of your own typing.
•Because sometimes less is more.
•Because only blogging when you feel truly inspired keeps up the integrity of your blog.
•Because they are probably not going to inscribe your stat, link and comment numbers on your tombstone.
•Because for most of us blogging is just a hobby. A way to express yourself and connect with others. You should not have to apologize for lapses in posts. Just take a step back and enjoy life, not everything you do has to be “bloggable”.
•Because if you blog without obligation you will naturally keep your blog around longer, because it won’t be a chore. Plus, just think you will be doing your part to eradicate post pollution. One post at a time. . .
