You know I've always wondered about those warning signs you see at a water's edge saying, "Do not feed or aggravate the alligators." Was the sign REALLY meaning what it said or was it something to keep you out of the water? We've always thought it was the later...UNTIL we got up one morning to see the sun rise and saw this! Yep, a real gator. And he was at the water's edge close to the campground. I kept the photo numbers on each picture so you could see the sequence. Check out #2736! His eye is shining as he watches us! You'll also notice that the closer or the more he noticed us, the more he sank into the water. We backed off a little and got real still and it is in the later pictures that you see that he doesn't see us because he's rising to the top of the water again. A couple of the last pics were a little blurry but I wanted to show you how comfortable he was as he rose to the water's top again.
Spooky!!! I really can't believe we saw this. Oh, and by the way, this is the third time we'd seen him! Once early in the morning like this but my camera batteries quit on me and he got out of sight before I could get to the camper and reload. The day before this slide was taken we were watching the sunset (can you tell we love these two times of the day?). He was on the other side of the bay where it came to the water's edge (you have to watch that area folks because it seems that's where they love to be!!!). He was too far away for pictures before the light was gone.
John 3:16

Blogging Without Obligation
After coming across what seemed to be the 4000th or so post on someone’s blog starting with “I’m sorry I haven’t posted in awhile.” I decided it is time to rethink what makes a good blog and the expectations that have come to be part of it. I am thinking that no one should utter those words again . . .and with that thought I give you Blogging Without Obligation.
•Because you shouldn’t have to look at your blog like it is a treadmill.
•Because its okay to just say what you have to say. If that makes for a long post, fine. Short post, fine. Frequent post, fine. Infrequent post, fine.
•Because its okay to not always be enthralled with the sound of your own typing.
•Because sometimes less is more.
•Because only blogging when you feel truly inspired keeps up the integrity of your blog.
•Because they are probably not going to inscribe your stat, link and comment numbers on your tombstone.
•Because for most of us blogging is just a hobby. A way to express yourself and connect with others. You should not have to apologize for lapses in posts. Just take a step back and enjoy life, not everything you do has to be “bloggable”.
•Because if you blog without obligation you will naturally keep your blog around longer, because it won’t be a chore. Plus, just think you will be doing your part to eradicate post pollution. One post at a time. . .
