Scenes from Florida

As most of you know that look at my blog, I'm a sucker for beautiful nature scenes. The first two in the slide are actually from our camper. It was absolutely gorgeous. Following those were a couple the first night we spent at Grayton Beach. Photos were taken while we were at the Seaside Neighborhood School area picking up our running packets for the next day. We enjoyed a pasta dinner and it was a nice 70 degrees. The front came in that night and dropped over 40 degrees! In the next group of pictures we came up on testing for lifeguards...it was the first day we could get out without freezing. They endured time tested events and looked difficult even for the most physically fit. I now feel safe on the beach after seeing all they went through. The sun was nice and warm and the breeze was great, too. The last several seem like the same picture but actually it is a progression of the sun going down. It was breathtaking and nothing can describe what we saw. These pictures were taken from the last week of February through the first week of March. Hope you enjoy our pictures!

I know you probably meant well with these pictures, but I see it as kind of cruel. While we were all here slaving away, there you were in the lap of luxury. Just kidding! I am very glad you two had such a good time. Glad you are home and tell that super hero-crime fighting husband of yours that I feel safer now that he is back in Laurel!!

The last pictures were so beautiful that I couldn't even hear my phone ringing...that WAS you, huh??

Blogging Without Obligation

After coming across what seemed to be the 4000th or so post on someone’s blog starting with “I’m sorry I haven’t posted in awhile.” I decided it is time to rethink what makes a good blog and the expectations that have come to be part of it. I am thinking that no one should utter those words again . . .and with that thought I give you Blogging Without Obligation. •Because you shouldn’t have to look at your blog like it is a treadmill. •Because its okay to just say what you have to say. If that makes for a long post, fine. Short post, fine. Frequent post, fine. Infrequent post, fine. •Because its okay to not always be enthralled with the sound of your own typing. •Because sometimes less is more. •Because only blogging when you feel truly inspired keeps up the integrity of your blog. •Because they are probably not going to inscribe your stat, link and comment numbers on your tombstone. •Because for most of us blogging is just a hobby. A way to express yourself and connect with others. You should not have to apologize for lapses in posts. Just take a step back and enjoy life, not everything you do has to be “bloggable”. •Because if you blog without obligation you will naturally keep your blog around longer, because it won’t be a chore. Plus, just think you will be doing your part to eradicate post pollution. One post at a time. . .
